Forensic Computer Analysis The use of computers has increased from just writing documents, sending e-mails, and keeping business accounts. Increasingly, they are utilized in criminal cases and other ways that can harm the general public, a spouse, child or acquaintance. Computer Forensics is the investigation and analysis of a computer to determine and locate potential legal evidence. Civil litigants make use of personal and business records found on computer systems that expose discrimination, sexual harassment, espionage and fraud. Corporations make use of these techniques to obtain evidence relating to sexual harassment, embezzlement, theft, selling of trade secrets and other abuses of company information or property. Criminal prosecutors may use computer evidence in crimes where incriminating documents are found, including homicide, financial fraud, sales of illegal drugs, embezzlement record keeping and child pornography. Individuals may retain assistance in support of claims of wrongful termination, harassment, or age discrimination. Likewise, a spouse may wish to review the computer activity of the other spouse or their children. And finally, it is not uncommon to be called when someone has been denied entry into a program or site because they have forgotten their password.
